    Headphones

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best headphones to run with? No matter what I try they still seem to fall out of my ears and I also haven't worked out the best way to wear them. I see some people with them around the back of their necks but that makes it worse for me. Any helpful headphone advice out there?

Also (this probably only applies to the female runners) does anyone have any ideas about the best way to wear your hair while running without having it flop in your face? A ponytail seems like the obvious option but I still get waspy bits coming out and my hair still manages to flick me in the face?!!

    Hi Viv,

    Welcome back.

I use Sennheiser in ear phones. They do stay in, but I wear them round the front and the wire can get sticky next to sweaty skin ;) . They do make sports phones but perhaps the outside ones are better. What do others think?

Hair: I find if I bunch it up it gets really sweaty. I quite like a low pony with a plait, but someone at the gym sprayed loads of hairspray on their ponytail the other day - so that might work too. SweatyBetty do a smart headband which I'm tempted to get. Araqnid might have some ideas (it's not only females Wink)

I have a similar problem with the standard i-pod earphones, they never feel securely in and it really isn't worth wearing them when it's windy.

My hair is almost shoulder-length and it's difficult to tie it all back, so I invested in the Sweatty Betty headband!  Not only does this keep all hair off your face and out of your eyes, it helps absorb any "perspiration" (us ladies don't sweat do we?!) AND keeps the earphones securely in place.  Worth a try!

I usually just tie my hair back, but I also use a Buff headwrap (http://www.buff.es/), which is basically a seamless lightweight tube that can be worn as a snood and keeps hair out of the way. It can also be used as a plain headband, wristband etc. And can be pressed into service for a pirate costume too :p

That buff looks well good :) It's so versatile! Would need more time to choose one and can't find a plain pink one ;) like at SweatyBetty (didn't know you had one lili!).

Am going to treat myself to a headband I think - the next half stone loss!

I use a baseball cap and tuck it all in except the pony tail at the back, however, on longer runs it makes my head too perspiring (sweaty?!).

    heya

I have gone back to the old fashioned headphones with the band across your head and ditched the ipod in-ear phones after spending most of the time re-arranging them. Much more comfortable

my hair is now till short for a ponytail so I am gonna have to look like a spice girl throw back with bunches!
