    New to all this

    I have never done a marathon before so am a little nervous about it. I do like running though and love music so I'm looking forward to it. What bands do you think are going to be playing at the event? Has anyone heard any rumours?

    I'm looking forward to my first one too but I think I need to get my music selection right. I set off with high tempo songs today and ran too quickly so was tired too early. Does anyone have any tips on what music to run to.

    I haven't heard anything about the bands playing yet but am looking forward to the event.

    I heard that there are a few local bands from greenwich playing but I don't know if any have been announced yet.

    Well i have cheesy music on mine, keeps me smiling then.

    Cracks me up when i hear something that reminds me of my youth.

    Gap band oops up side your head is a good one, you can run to the beat to that one, and i tell you another is bucks fizz making your mind up ha ha ... you got the speeeeeed it up then you got to slow it down, i find myself doing that on a run... I know sad Geeked

    funyn how some songs keep you going, i was doing a long run got to about 9 miles and felt totally knackered then Michael Jackson 'Get on Down The Road' from THe Wiz came on, (just what i needed with the legs feeling like they are about to drop off) wet myself laughing and managed another mile or two.

    I have put on a select on fast and slow songs and created the play list to have some slower songs for the first 4-5 miles when i know i will feel much better then the faster ones i like best later on when i need my mind taken off the aching legs.

    Also get to listen to all the songs my other half hates, 'Stevie Wonder, The Drifters'
